"...as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me." -Matthew 25:40

Our Mission

To ensure that the hungry in our community have easy access to nutritious meals for a better, healthier life.

Named after the late Rev. Dr. Abraham Adegoke Iyanda Oyedeji, the Goke Food Pantry opened its doors to serve the Kensington community of Brooklyn on June 8th, 2013. Operating out of Christ Apostolic Church, located at 622 Cortelyou Road, GFP was initially funded and staffed by members of the church. Since then, GFP has expanded to include volunteers from the community and has partnered with outside organizations to provide food to those in need.

In the beginning, GFP was only able to provide canned goods and other non-perishable food products. Over time, GFP expanded to provide fresh produce and other nutritious food to its clients. Today, GFP handles more than 10,000 food distributions every month, making it one of the largest food pantries in NYC.

GFP’s dedication and commitment to serving the needy was recognized by Food Bank for New York City in 2016, when it awarded GFP the Borough Excellence Award.
